CoderCamp3 on August 2nd
July 9, 2012 in CoderCamp, Community
We’ve been holding a new event in Hamilton called CoderCamp for the last couple months in response to demand for a more skill-building and code-focused event for software developers to attend. The events have so far centered around a series of 5-30 minute talks about tools and technologies that coders use.
For example at July’s CoderCamp Brian Graham (@BrianJGraham) gave a great talk about web security issues – check out the PDF version here and the Google Docs version here.
We meet to talk about coding, to learn from each other, and get better at what we do in the process. It takes place for a couple hours during the evening on the first Thursday of the month. We have a projector and screen setup for people to give talks. You don’t have to give a talk to attend, but we welcome you to come, talk and share what you know as well.
Where: Acclamation (downstairs lounge) [accalamation.ca] – 191 James ST North
Date: Thursday August 2nd, 2012
Rough Agenda:
6:30pm – 7:00pm – meetup, grab a drink and food
7:00pm – 9:00pm – series of talks
At the last CoderCamp we had the following people volunteer to talk at this one:
John Fink – Embedded hardware
Kevin Browne – Haskell overview\intro
Andrew Scruz
If you could register here so we know how many people are coming we would appreaciate it – if enough people are coming then we need to tell the bar to bring in another staff member.
Thanks to Acclamation for hosting us in their downstairs lounge!
