DemoCampHamilton8 on Monday September 24th

DemoCampHamilton8 will be happening on Monday September 24th from 6:30pm until 9:00pm in The Arnie pub at Mohawk College. We’ll have a keynote by Mabel’s Labels at this DemoCamp! Mabel’s Labels is a wonderful Hamilton success story, over the last 10 years the company has grown from 4 founders operating out of a basement to 40+ employees in a 14,000 sqaure foot location.

In addition to the keynote from Mabel’s Labels we’ll have a demo line-up that already looks like the best ever. As always you can expect to see some of the best Hamilton startups show off their latest web and mobile apps. In addition we’ll also have a demo of a mobile app that will help connect Hamilton-area post-secondary students to businesses, jobs and events in the downtown core. And for the first time ever a live robot demo too!

If you’re new to DemoCampHamilton events, they’ve been occurring now every 2-4 months since the first in March 2011. DemoCamps are a popular type of event that take place in cities across Canada. They involve a series of 5 minute live software demos, each followed by 5 minutes of Q&A with the community. Before the demos the events will feature a keynote on a startup or technology related topic. The demos tend to focus on web and mobile applications built by startups, with an emphasis on sharing and learning from one another as a community in a casual environment. DemoCampHamilton is for anyone interested in technology in Hamilton or interested in seeing technology built in Hamilton – marketers, students, developers, investors, lawyers, accountants, CEOs, teachers, etc. Community building is the most important part. One of the favourite things I think I’ve seen at a DemoCampHamilton wasn’t even a demo, it was seeing a mother bring her son who was interested in tech as a career path!

This will be the third time that DemoCampHamilton stops off at The Arnie, and if you’re interested in seeing some great made-in-Hamilton technology I hope you can join us on September 24th!
