Weever Apps makes startup index, OverAir raises $140k

There’s a couple quick news items I’ve been meaning to blog about for awhile now!

First off, well-known Hamilton startup Weever Apps (@WeeverApps) isn’t just well known in Hamilton – they’re well-known period! The proof? They’re the first ever Hamilton startup to appear in the TechVibes (@techvibes) Canadian Startup Index that ranks Canadian startups by their Alexa traffic rankings. Alexa rankings aren’t perfect but they do provide a nice yardstick, and it’s wonderful to finally see Hamilton on the index:

And in other great news for the Hamilton ecosystem, startup OverAir (@OverAirca) led by McMaster student Ethan Do was able to raise $140k to fund their development:

And OverAir also recently won $25k at the Dx3 Canadian Pitch-Off (check out the TechVibes article). Wow! Big congratulations to Ethan and OverAir! And awesome as always to see student entrepreneurism on the rise in Hamilton. Somehow I think that’s not the last time I’ll be writing congratulations to Ethan and OverAir either…
