Hey GDDers,

We invite all of you within or curious about our game development community to come and join us at the Pheasant Plucker on Wednesday, Feb 15 for a night of good times and good cheer. This month our guest speaker is Jesse Attard from Tactic Studios (located in London Ontario) the studio behind Immortal Empire.

From 7:00-10:30 p.m., GameDevDrinks is the place for you to hang out and to hear Jesse Attard speak about the trials and tribulations of Tactic Studios, and learn about their upcoming sci-fi puzzle game, as well as get a hands-on experience with their “pre-alpha” sci-fi game. Afterwards you can chat with Jesse Attard, share your game concepts and ideas, tell and trade stories, show off game demos or just network and hang out because at GDD our goal is to create a casual and creative social environment for anyone – student, hobbyist, enthusiast and professional alike – who shares the common interest of game development of any kind.

We look forward to seeing you on the 15th!

Regards,

Tactic Studios was founded in 2007 and specializes in developing thought-provoking, story-driven games for PC. We’re located in London, Canada, roughly a 2 hour drive from Canada’s largest city, Toronto.
In 2009 Tactic released our first title, Immortal Empire to open beta, a free browser-based multiplayer role playing game set in a fantasy universe. Built from the ground up on Tactic’s proprietary Immortal Engine, Tactic officially released Immortal Empire to Steam as a fully downloadable game in December 2015.

Tactic has since made significant improvements to the Immortal Engine, growing it to a fully-featured modern 3D game engine. With support for Windows, Mac, and Linux, the Immortal Engine offers a fully deferred 3d renderer, including a comprehensive level editor, animation blending, rigid body physics solver, AI navigation mesh, and much more. Using this technology, we are currently developing a new unannounced 3D first person game.
