Clearcable partners with Lambton on ML research

Hamilton-based specialized telecommunications technical consulting firm Clearcable (@clearcable), who launched a Canadian Content Distribution Network (CDN) for broadcast TV channels, has partnered with Lambton College on an applied machine learning research project.

The new Canadian business labeled “Clearcable Streams” is attempting to evolve online streaming applications for Canadian service providers.

Clearcable and Lambton College are working to establish a reliable process, methodology and algorithm to be directly integrated into Clearcable’s existing product to measure, assess, and optimize the quality of the video streamed automatically. The new technology will be directly integrated into Clearcable’s existing product offering as an augmentation/improvement of the technology.

Funding for Lambton College AI and ML projects is supported through the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE).

iPad Adult Literacy App Study

If you’re a McMaster University student interested in participating in a study involving an iPad application to teach literacy skills to adults, check out the below form! Unfortunately due to the research ethics constraints the study is only open to McMaster students, but I thought it may be worthwhile to share it on Software Hamilton regardless. 🙂
