Coding Bootcamp Instructor – 2 Positions

The Industry-Education Council (IEC) of Hamilton is a not-for-profit organization serving Greater Hamilton, since 1978. We are devoted to fostering partnerships between business, industry, government, community and education to support experiential learning opportunities for all learners, through quality mentoring.

Funding from the Hamilton Community Foundation’s Edith H. Turner Foundation has made possible the development of a Coding Boot Camp program in partnership with City School by Mohawk for individuals aged 19-29 years old. The goal is to develop participants’ basic coding understanding while illuminating career paths in software and technology development. In order for this program to be successful, we require an ICT professional who can deliver the 12-week Boot Camp, at either the Hamilton Public Library, Central Branch, Circuit 4.0 or the Eva Rothwell Centre*, both City School by Mohawk locations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

â—Ź Facilitate the delivery of the 12-week Boot Camp

â—Ź Deliver hands-on and interactive curriculum that introduces HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress

â—Ź Provide supporting feedback on student progress and offer one-to-one help

Ideal Candidate

  • 2-5 years teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to technology or difficult learners



20 hours a week for 12 weeks (curriculum provided)
